In Las Vegas, the house rarely loses. After all, there is a reason why the hotels, casinos, and sportsbooks all along the strip are so massive and gaudy. That all changed this past Sunday, however, when the betting public gave the Vegas sportsbooks one of their worst beatings of all-time.

According to David Purdum of ESPN, Nevada sportsbooks lost somewhere in the range of $7 million to $10 million on Sunday alone, making Week 9 of the 2018 NFL season one of the worst Sundays in the history of sports betting for the Vegas casinos.

Purdum added that the Vegas sportsbooks won an average of $10 million per week in September, so it’s hard to really feel bad for the house. That said, when these types of parlays are hitting, you know things are a little out of the ordinary.

Sunday’s key games (for the sportsbooks) were the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions, and Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens. The books were pulling for the Browns, Lions, and Steelers — all of them failed to cover.
