With the NFL offseason essentially over and training camps on the horizon, optimism about the 2018 season is at an all-time high among players, fanbases, front offices, and coaching staffs around the league. The harsh truth of the matter, though, is that there are only a handful of teams with a realistic chance at representing their respective conference in Super Bowl 53.
We’ve already given you a detailed look at the current Super Bowl 53 odds. The oddsmakers in Las Vegas recently took things a step further by releasing their odds for the most likely matchups in Super Bowl 53. Here’s a look at what they came up with.
Odds as of July 13, 2018 via Sportsbook.ag.
Green Bay Packers vs. New England Patriots (+2400)
This matchup would pit Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady on the biggest stage in professional sports. What more could NFL fans ask for?
Minnesota Vikings vs. New England Patriots (+2200)
This potential matchup nearly came to fruition in Super Bowl 52. With the Vikings upgrading to Kirk Cousins at quarterback this offseason, they should be even better in 2018.
Los Angeles Rams vs. New England Patriots (+2000)
When it comes down to it, the Rams may be the most talented team — especially on the defensive side of the ball — in the NFL. If Sean McVay can get his team to gel, the Rams will be extremely tough to beat in the NFC.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots (+1700)
This would be a rematch of Super Bowl 52, which was one of the most entertaining big games in recent NFL history. The Eagles won that game 41-33, and look even better (on paper) heading into the 2018 season. If you haven’t already noticed, the Vegas oddsmakers clearly believe that Tom Brady will lead the Patriots to their ninth Super Bowl appearance since 2001.
Other notable potential Super Bowl 53 matchups:
- Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Philadelphia Eagles (+3000)
- San Francisco 49ers vs. New England Patriots (+3500)
- Los Angeles Rams vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (+3500)
- Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (+4000)
- New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots (+4000)
- Minnesota Vikings vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (+4000)
