Finding consistent success betting on the NFL is no simple feat. History has proven that it can be done, though.
It takes a lot of homework, inside knowledge, a high football I.Q., and even a little bit of luck to beat the books on a regular basis. If you don’t have a lot of time to commit to the process, we have you covered.
Here is a look at three NFL bets we have targeted as must plays in Week 6.
Odds courtesy of Sportsbook.ag as of October 11, 2018.
Los Angeles Rams -7
Opponent: Denver Broncos
Bottom line: The Broncos are a flat-out dysfunctional mess right now, and the Rams are the best overall team in the National Football League.
Weather could be a factor here (there is snow in the forecast), but that will likely only have an impact on the game’s point total. On top of that, we are expecting the L.A. defense to bring their ‘A game’ in what amounts to a revenge game for defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
Expect the Rams to notch a comfortable, double-digit win on Sunday.
Carolina Panthers/Washington Redskins over 44.5
Simply put: This is a game we see going way over 44.5 total points.
The Carolina offense, led by Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey, is fully capable of putting up 35+ points by themselves. And while the Redskins are clearly not an offensive juggernaut, they are also capable of scoring 21+ points on a weekly basis if quarterback Alex Smith plays well.
When it’s all said and done, we see the point total for this game getting into the 50’s.
Jacksonville Jaguars -3
Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
This game will likely be a defensive battle, so the under (40.5) could also be in play here.
When it comes down to it, we are expecting the Jaguars to load up the box and commit to shutting down Ezekiel Elliott, leaving their outstanding secondary on an island against the Cowboys’ struggling group of wide receivers. That will force the game into the hands of the Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who has struggled mightily in 2018.
If Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville offense can play competent football, the Jags should win this game by no less than a touchdown.
