With all eyes fixed on the National Football League, something super exciting happened — NBA basketball made its triumphant return. Granted, it’s only in the preseason right now. But, hey, something’s better than nothing, right?

We’ve got a long season ahead of us, and we have no doubt the standings will fluctuate. But, like Vegas, we feel it’s important not to overlook a single thing. And that means, taking the time to analyze the odds for each and every NBA division.

With that, here is a look at who Vegas is picking to win the Atlantic Division.

Odds courtesy of MyBookie.ag as of September 30, 2018.

Brooklyn Nets (+6000)

The Brooklyn Nets are only listed because they play in the Atlantic Division. Honestly, if we could, we’d cut them from contention right here and now. A victory for the Nets would be finishing the season with over 30 wins and escaping the cellar of the division.

New York Knicks (+5000)

We love Kristaps Porzingis, we believe in new head coach David Fizdale, and we’re excited to watch rookie Kevin Knox showcase his talent against NBA competition. Other than that, our expectations for the New York Knicks are relatively low. Sorry, Knicks fans, it’s just not your year.

Philadelphia 76ers (+375)

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to improve on a 2017–18 campaign that saw them win 52 games and advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals. With Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons leading the way, it’s a real possibility. The Sixers might not win the division, but no one is going to overlook this squad.

Toronto Raptors (+250)

The Toronto Raptors won the division last season, but once again failed to make a real splash in the postseason. Tired of consistently coming up short, the organization finally made a move this past offseason, acquiring All-Star Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs. Leonard definitely makes the Raptors better. Yet, they have their work cut out for them if they hope to repeat as Atlantic Division champs.

Boston Celtics (-145)

The Boston Celtics made it to the Eastern Conference finals without Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. The return of these two All-Stars, along with budding superstars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, make the C’s more deadly in 2018–19. Boston is the heavy favorite to win the Atlantic Division. We can’t argue with Vegas on this one.
