The Oakland A’s selected Kyler Murray with the ninth overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. They gave him a nearly $5 million signing bonus and agreed to let him play football at Oklahoma this past season. They may soon live to regret that decision.

In his lone season as the Sooners’ starting quarterback, Murray threw for 4,361 yards, rushed for additional 1,001, and finished with 54 combined touchdowns (42 in the air, 12 on the ground). He led the Oklahoma Sooners to the College Football Playoff and won the Heisman Trophy. And then he did something that few could’ve possibly seen coming prior to the start of the 2018 college football season:

That’s right, he declared for the NFL draft.

This decision turned the sports world completely upside down. And you best believe Vegas wanted a piece of the action. So now, the question is, what team will Murray be on come Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season? The oddsmakers have spoken. See for yourself.

Washington Redskins (+800)

The Redskins looked to be set at quarterback when they gave Alex Smith a four-year, $94 million deal ($55 million guaranteed at signing) this past offseason. Smith then suffered a gruesome leg injury — the likes of which we haven’t seen since Joe Theismann — and everything changed. Washington holds the 15th overall pick, and there’s always the possibility Murray won’t fall that far. However, if the ‘Skins fall in love with him, they certainly have the draft capital to go up and get him.

New York Giants (+700)

There is the very real possibility that New York sticks with Eli Manning as its starter in 2019. Fortunately for Giants fans, general manager David Gettleman hasn’t committed to anything. Most pundits have the G-Men targeting Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins with the No. 6 pick in the draft. Of course, that could easily change if the Giants see something special in Murray. Plus, can you imagine a more dynamic trio than Kyler, Saquon, and Odell?

Jacksonville Jaguars (+300)

At last, the Jacksonville Jaguars appear ready to move on from Blake Bortles. And with the seventh overall pick in the draft, they find themselves in prime position to snag the electric quarterback out of Oklahoma (if they so choose). Then again, perhaps the organization’s hiring of John DeFilippo as its new offensive coordinator means it has its sights set on a different signal caller — a certain former Super Bowl MVP who currently resides in Philadelphia, perhaps?

Oakland Raiders (+250)

The Raiders have a franchise QB in Derek Carr. They also have a head coach in Jon Gruden who’s an absolute lunatic. With three picks in the first round, it wouldn’t surprise us to see “Chucky” and newly-hired GM Mike Mayock swing for the fences and take Murray.

Don’t forget, Gruden is the same guy who traded away Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper. You never know what he’s going to do next.
