The Jimmy Butler saga dragged on longer than most anticipated. However, the Minnesota Timberwolves, after waiting as long as they could, finally traded away the disgruntled All-Star.
So, which team “won” the Butler sweepstakes? That’d be the Philadelphia 76ers. But, it definitely cost them:

The Sixers have been looking to add a third star for a while now, and they clearly think Butler is that guy. The question is, do Vegas oddsmakers believe this trade increases Philly’s chances of winning an NBA championship? Let’s take a look at the latest odds and find out.
Boston Celtics (+950)
The Boston Celtics have gotten off to a slow start this season, but it’s only a matter of time before they figure things out. Kyrie Irving is slowly finding his groove, while Jayson Tatum continues to prove he is a superstar in the making. If Gordon Hayward can get back to his pre-injury form, the C’s will be even more equipped for a championship run.
Toronto Raptors (+850)
The offseason addition of Kawhi Leonard didn’t just help the Toronto Raptors stake their claim as the team to beat in the Atlantic Division, it made them a genuine threat to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals. The Raptors are 12-1 to begin the 2018-19 season and currently rank in the top 10 in both offensive (3rd of 30) and defensive (9th of 30) rating. Simply put, the Raptors are for real.
Golden State Warriors (-150)
The Golden State Warriors are a cheat code. There’s really no other way to put it. Klay Thompson is setting three-point records like it was nothing, Kevin Durant continues to humiliate defenders on a nightly basis, and Stephen Curry, well, we have three words for you: Most Valuable Player. The Dubs look absolutely unstoppable.
