Whether you’re a season-long or daily fantasy sports (DFS) player, finding success in fantasy football is all about exploiting matchups. And as we head into Week 4 of the NFL season, there are a handful of quarterbacks who stand out above the rest.
First things first, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes projects to have another huge game against the Denver Broncos in Week 4. That said, given his status as a must-start fantasy quarterback every week going forward, it’s not worth mentioning him below — we’ll save that space for guys who don’t necessarily qualify as must-start players.
With that being said, here is a look at five quarterbacks with favorable fantasy matchups in Week 3.

Eli Manning, New York Giants
The Giants are going to be a difficult team to figure out all season. Nevertheless, don’t overthink this one.
The Giants host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and the only thing we see potentially slowing down the G-Men down is weather. Expect to see Manning throw for 300+ yards and multiple touchdowns in Week 4.
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals
Dalton and the Bengals are on the road against the Atlanta Falcons in what should be one of the highest-scoring games on the Week 4 slate.
The Falcons have been absolutely decimated by injuries on the defensive side of the ball, leaving them incredibly vulnerable over the middle of the field. The Bengals could be without A.J. Green, but that shouldn’t matter when it comes to Dalton’s fantasy value. Don’t be shocked if the ‘Red Rocket’ ends up as a top-five fantasy quarterback in Week 4.
Case Keenum, Denver Broncos
Keenum has been incredibly inconsistent during his first year as the Broncos’ full-time starter, which makes it hard to have any confidence in his fantasy value going forward. That said, he should end up with 40-50 pass attempts against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.
It’s no secret that the Chiefs have a high-powered offense. They also have a defense that leaves something to be desired — especially against opposing passing attacks. If this game goes as expected (Kansas City jumping out to an early lead with Denver playing catch-up), Keenum should end up with well over 300 yards and multiple touchdown passes.
Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Ryan had an enormous performance in Week 3 (374 yards, 5 touchdowns, 0 interceptions), and we are expecting his dominant play to continue into Week 4.
The Falcons are set to play host to the Cincinnati Bengals, who simply do not match up well against Atlanta’s wide receivers (Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Mohammed Sanu). He may not match last week’s performance, but don’t be surprised when Ryan posts a 300-yard, three touchdown game on Sunday.
Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers
Rivers and the Chargers are 10.5-point favorites over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4 (thanks to Jimmy Garoppol’s season-ending knee injury. On that note, the only thing that we see preventing Rivers from scoring 20+ fantasy points in Week 4 is the Chargers jumping out to a huge early lead and going into run-out-the-clock mode in the second half.
The Niners’ defense has been extremely friendly to opposing quarterbacks in 2018, allowing 288 yards and just under three touchdown passes per game.
