The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos have one of the most intense and competitive rivalries in the National Football League today. With that being the case, it’s safe to expect fireworks in every Chiefs-Broncos matchup — regardless of each team’s overall record entering the game.
With kickoff in the Monday Night Football matchup between these two bitter AFC West rivals now just hours away, here is a look a the game’s best value bets.
Odds courtesy of Sportsbook.ag as of October 1, 2018.
Point Total: over 53.5
The Broncos have struggled against the pass in 2018, and it’s no secret that the Chiefs have been dominant through the air. To add to that, the Chiefs have also been less than stellar on the defensive side of the ball this season.
Don’t be surprised if the point total for this game gets into the 60’s.
First Half Point Spread: Chiefs -3
The Chiefs have gotten off to fast starts all season. In fact, the high-powered Kansas City offense has scored a whopping 49 points combined in the first quarters of their three games in 2018. There’s no reason to believe this will change on Monday night.
Phillip Lindsay Total Rushing+Receiving Yards: over 73.5 yards
Through three games, it is clear that the Broncos are going to rely heavily on Lindsay in 2018.
If the Chiefs jump out to an early lead, the former undrafted free agent will likely see an increased number of targets out of the backfield, as he is Denver’s preferred option on passing downs.
Not only will Lindsay go over 73.5 total yards, we see him going over 100.
Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders total receptions: over 5.5
The oddsmakers gave Thomas and Sanders the both number here, and we believe both players will go over.
If the Chiefs get out to another fast start, the Broncos will have no choice but to throw the ball while playing catch-up. Thomas and Sanders should be the beneficiaries.
Travis Kelce total receiving yards: over 78.5
Bottom line: The Broncos have all kinds of issues when it comes to defending tight ends. And Kelce is one of the best in the business.
